OOC- Guyver 'out of control' OVA
OVA- 12 part OVA (also known as 2 separate 6 part)
TV- The new 26 episode Tv series

Name
Description.

Malmot
malmot
MANGA - OOC - OVA - TV

Malmot is the name of a test zoanoid type. This man bore the name of malmot and we knew him by no other name. He is the poor wretch used by Agito Makashima to steal the guyver units from the Chronos Japan branch. This poor fellow, obviously didn't want to be used as a test subject for chronos, so he was more than willing to steal the units. It is still unknown how he actually managed to pull off this feat, but it is possible that an opening was arranged by Agito. He hitched a lift with truck driver and made his way to the forests near the home of Agito to meet up with him. Unfortunately he came across some difficulty on the way and he and the units were blown apart by a grenade.

-------------------

Malmot

Variations: Malmud, Melmoth; also: "Experimental type"

Not much is known about this test type Zoanoid, except that he was hired by a unknown party to steal the Guyver Units. He was successful but never managed to deliver them to his contact,as he was found out by Chronos. As an incomplete Zoanoid he only had a week to live after leaving Chronos and he considered himself in his Zoaform to be a monster.

He fought a Gregole, but being a test type and an incomplete Zoanoid, he was vastly outmatched and eventually killed himself using a grenade. The explosion injured Gregole and scattered the Guyver Units.

It was usually presumed, and ultimately shown in the 2005 series, that his contact was Agito Makishima . The 2005 TV series shows him to have a wife and daughter.

Nothing else was ever revealed about this tragic individual.

Truck Driver
driver
MANGA - OOC - OVA - TV

The truck driver, picked up malmot and gave him a ride, but got greedy. Getting wise with a zoanoid, even a test type is not a good idea. This man ended up rather dead.

The truck driver does not appear in the TV series and is replaced by two policemen.

Sho Fukamachi
Sho
MANGA - OOC - OVA - TV

This is the main guy. the protagonist of the story. Sho started out as a very weak character. He never had much dialogue or much opinion on anything. I feel this was purposely done by Yoshiki to encourage us to place our own persona into him. He was like a puppet for us to put ourselves into his position. He has developed over the years but not much. We have seen him hold back on many occasions. He doesn't like to fight as the guyver. He does it to protect his friends. If he can avoid a fight he will. He was accidentally bestowed the power of the guyver and so is unwilling participant to the struggle with chronos. This unwillingness to fight has seen him manipulated many times. mostly by Agito Makashima. His faith in others is boundless. He believes in other people so strongly that he can appear very naive.

SHO FUKAMACHI
?? - Fukamachi
? - Sho

Alias

  • Guyver I

Brief History: A young man whom accidentally bonds with an alien artifact known as the unit-g. Becoming the Guyver, Sho fights against the ruthless organization that want the unit they lost back. Unable to escape the armor, Sho is forced to protect everyone he loves as the Chronos organization threatens to hold them hostage.

Sho Fukimachi is the primary charactor of the Boost Armor Guyver series.

In depth history:

In truth, Sho Fukamachi is a perfectly normal boy. Relatively little is known about his life before he became one of the deadliest creatures his world had ever seen.

Of course, he was very young at the time - in his seventeenth year, son of a kind father and a mother who had died before he was ten years old. Friends since childhood with Tetsuro and Mizuki Segawa. A normal high school student with slightly below average grades, member of the school board not out of a sense of responsibility but because Mizuki was on the board and he had a crush on her. In a different world, he would have grown into a quiet adolescent and finally a colorless adult - a normal Sarariman, or, perhaps, in the world that he lives in, a Zoanoid... probably a Ramotith.

And perhaps he would have preferred that, and perhaps he would not; but that did not matter. The choice was not his. Destiny, or ka, or blind chance seized his life and smashed it to bits - before re-assembling it into a completely different form.

That day... He was walking home, together with his best friend Tetsuro, through the forest area where they had played since they were kids. It was a day like a thousand others, until that one moment. There was a loud bang, not too far away from them in the forest, and there was the object that fell from the sky and landed in the grass, nearby.

Of course it was Tetsuro who was immediately drawn to the strange object - he just had to poke at it, pick it up and fiddle with it... while Sho watched him with apprehension. A nervous warning from him caused Tetsuro to fumble the bizarre thing... and he caught it. And it caught him. The actual sequence of events varies from version to version, anime, manga, anime. In the manga, it is Sho who picks up the unit and examines it, thus accidentally activating it. The previous sequence of events is from the 2005 TV Series.

Nobody really knows what activates a G-unit. Sho certainly did not, but he activated the alien symbiont. The control unit was triggered, unfolded and attached itself to the nearest host, and merged with him. Half through the mergance process Sho threw himself unconsciously into a nearby pond, thus when Chronos Troops arrived, who were looking for the Unit and included a transformed Gregole, all they found was Tetsuro, who naturally was very surprised at seeing Gregole.

The order to eliminate Tetsuro was very quick in coming since no one who had seen a transformed Zoanoid at that time was allowed to live.

The good news for Tetsuro though is that Sho completed merging with the Guyver Unit about then, and while Fukamachi was still in shock from bonding with the Unit it acted to protect Tetsuro and in very short order had killed Gregole. Seeing their companion killed so easily by a perceived inferior being, the other Chronos Troops quickly retreated. Versions vary here again. In the OAV series, the troops leader a Vamore transforms and is destroyed by Sho as well.

After killing Gregole, Sho 'wakes up' and is horrified to see his transformed Guyver self. This initial shock and self loathing drives the Unit from him and they - Tetsuro and Sho watch as the armor sinks into the pond that Sho had early submersed himself in. They then go home and Sho later shows Tetsuro the marks on his back.

Tetsuro is approached by two men who appear to be detectives. He goes with them, as does Sho in the OAV and TV Series. In the Manga he follows secretly but is very quickly found. Either way, the result is the same. Sho is threatened by a transformed Ramotith (TV and OAV series) or a Vamore in the Manga while Tetsuro is questioned about the location of the 'Guyver Unit'.

This sparks some recognition in Sho and eventually he calls for the Guyver. This leads to a lot of surprise from the Chronos Troops who now realise that they've had their hands on what they were searching for, for some time. Guyver I very quickly dispatches the Zoanoid that are there, leading to his first use of the megasmasher in the TV series and manga.

Agito was looking on from safety outside the ware house.

It is after this incident that Sho and Tetsuro really begin to find out just how prevalent Chronos is within their world.

Mizuki Segawa
mizuki
MANGA - OOC - OVA - TV
She is Shos' Childhood friend. At the start of the Manga he was interested in her romantically. That's to be expected. She was never really interested in him from the start but over time they have grown a close bond. in later volumes it appears that they are growing closer and Mizuki cares for him a great deal. She feels very helpless a lot of the time and tends to try to save the day by screaming Shos' name. It sometimes works too, when sho is unconscious, she can reach out to him and bring him back.

Agito Makashima
agito
MANGA - OVA - TV

Agito is a very ambitious individual. One of the more interesting characters in the Manga. He was adopted at a very young age by genzo makashima, his uncle, and then manipulated, to give his uncle good standing in the chronos corporation. Agito has resented this fact and has vowed never to be manipulated again. To this end he pulled the strings and arranged for the guyver units to be stolen. through the events that followed, he managed to acquire one unit. He activated this unit and from that day forward, he manipulated Sho Fukamachi to bring the destruction of the chronos HQ in japan. It did not end there though. Agito decided, that with his power he could ensure that nobody would be in the position to use him again. He would climb to the top and become the ruler of the world. This ambition has taken him to firstly help in the destruction of relics point, then after that, the formation of the resistance group Zeus Thunder. When he returned to japan he managed to get ahold of the all powerful Gigantic unit. With his strong will he has been able to gain a mastery of the gigantic unit, and uses this strength to even take the unit from sho by force of will alone. His ambition sees him as a Ruthless fighter. He does not take any prisoners and shows no mercy in any circumstance. He recently showed how far he was willing to go by destroying the 'Pillars of Heaven' building in america and killing thousands of innocents.

AGITO MAKISHIMA

  • Agito Makashima

Alias

  • Guyver III
  • Gigantic Dark

Once, years ago, there was a little boy. We may assume the boy was happy and playful like most children are. But something bad happened to him. His father had a brother who wanted a protegé but could not be bothered to take a wife. So, he decided to simply take a child from someone else who already had one. The brother subtly manipulated the father of the boy into a hopeless financial position, then offered to help him out of his debts. All he asked for in return was his only son, to raise as his own. The father, being a man of responsibility, accepted the offer to be able to pay his debtors. Soon after, he took his own life. His wife followed soon, all the light drained from her life. The little boy´s new father explained to him how this had been possible: it was through the careful application of power. Power was wat mattered. It is what has to be striven for above all else; if you do not have power, those who do have power will do with you whatever they want. The boy understood, and learned the lessons of his stepfather well over the years that followed.

Agito Makishima grew in power and knowledge over the years, until he overshadowed his stepfather, without the latter realizing it. Genzo Makishima was the local head of Chronos. He was not even a Zoanoid, nor was he fully aware of the scope of Chronos´ operations. His hunger for power had reached its ceiling, and Agito, who had gradually been introduced into the circles of Chronos and had gathered a reputation that reached all the way to the Council of Twelve, fully realized this. He looked for a way to take his stepfather´s place, to grow in power, to rise in Chronos, to take his own fate in his hands. Revenge was a tiny part of his plan; he had honed his mind to such an extent, emotions were allowed only a very tight rein. One day... an opportunity presented itself. In the relic under Mount Minakami, alien objects of immense potential had been found. Without fully understanding what their significance was, but instinctibely feeling, knowing, that here lay a road to power beyond anything he could gain in his current position, he used a rogue Zoanoid as his pawn. The hapless creature stole the units through unknown means... and when Chronos attempted to retrieve them, one of them merged with a school boy who was at the site completely by coincidence. They only managed to recover one unit, which soon was destroyed because of structural damage to the control medal. The third unit was not found at all. At least, not by Chronos.

Agito Makishima hid the unit where no-one would ever seek it: in his stepfather´s Chronos branch office. The sublime irony fitted his character. He spent several days observing the Guyver´s functions; observed Guyver One´s battles against several Zoanoids, against Guyver Two. Ultimately, he decided it was worthwhile to merge with the final unit himself.

Tetsuro Segawa
tetsuro
MANGA - OVA - TV
Tetsuro is a close friend of Sho and was with him when sho activated the unit. This has made them inseparable. He will stick with Sho forever. Tetsuro was part of a newsletter called Science Fiction Society. He took an interest in the guyver and came up with many theories about who chronos were and what the guyver was. He has always been interested in science, and tries to help with all matters that are technical in nature.

Genzo Makashima
genzo
MANGA - OOC - OVA - TV

The original commander of Japan HQ for chronos. It was under his command that the guyvers were stolen. This did not see him gain favor with his superiors. After a second blundered attempt to retrieve the guyvers, he was taken and processed into the guyver killer Enzyme.
His rage at being transformed into this monster helped him in the fight and he defeated the guyver. Shortly after the body of the guyver mysteriously got up and squeezed him 'til he popped!

------------------------------------

Genzo Makishima

Alias

  • Enzyme I

Genzo Makishima was the adoptive father of Agito Makishima and the nominal head of Chronos Japan.

A despicable individual with the morals of a snake; in order to gain Agito as his protegé, he used his influence to drive his own brother to bankcruptcy and ultimately suicide.

It was perhaps inevitable that this man, who was only interested in power, would eventually end up in the employ of Chronos. He became the head of a local sector headquarters, under the guise of a faramaceutics company. He took considerable pride in the many succesful mass-produced Zoanoid types created in his branch of the organization.

He never underwent the process himself - perhaps he thought it was unseemly, perhaps he did not consider it necessary for a branch manager, or perhaps he actually was scared. In retrospect it does seem odd he did not desire the power of a Zoanoid for himself.

His final fall from grace started when a test type Zoanoid - Malmot - stole the Units-G from the research facility, where they had been sent from where they had originally been found for in-depth study.

Despite Makashima´s best efforts Chronos was only able to retrieve a single Unit and even though they knew the identy of one other Unit-host they could not convince him to cooperate.

Genzo's strategy varies depending on the version of Guyver - manga or anime - but in at least one case includes the unleashing of the Hyper-Zoanoid Zerebubuth; however this plan did not succeed and many of his plans were intercepted by his own step-son.

Not even the Chronos Supervisor Oswald Lisker, who had unintentionally (?)become a Guyver himself, could retrieve a Unit G - in fact he died in his attempt. Genzo's repeated failures eventually led to Chronos Zoalord Guyot coming to take command of the situation himself. It was by Guyot's command that Genzo was punished for his repeated failures by being processed into a Zoanoid type specifically designed to kill Guyvers - Enzyme.

Genzo harbored a deep hatred of Chronos and Sho Fukamachi over his processing. The newly created Hyper-Zoanoid was send to the Narisawa area to confront Fukamachi. Genzo's processing into a Zoanoid was incomplete, meaning that once he transformed, he had only one week to live - unless his form was stabilised by Chronos. Worse than that though, even if he was reprocessed he would be stuck in the monstrous Enzyme form. He'd gone from the top of his organization to the lowest ranked soldier, and he knew he could not take out his hatred on Chronos - so he took it out on the obvious target.

Of all the Enzyme types to date, Genzo/Enzyme One might be considered the most successful, as he managed to bite off Guyver One´s arm, impale him on his tail stinger and rip out the control medallion. This resulted in the Guyver-organism consuming its host.

However, once his task was complete, Guyot no longer needed the ex-head of Chronos Japan; and so, when the half-consumed remains of Guyver One continued to attack, Guyot utilised his psychic ability as a Zoalord to remotely destroy Enzyme One. This resulted in Enzyme's corrosive blood being sprayed all over the remains of Guyver One, and the two of them disintegrated together into a gruesome puddle of protoplasm.

An ignominious demise for a man of questionable repute. He was not mourned.

Oswald Lisker /Valcuria
lisker
MANGA - OOC - OVA - TV

Lisker was sent by Chronos HQ which we now know is based in America, so Lisker is likely to be an American. He was sent by the headquarters to inspect the Guyver units. Lisker was trained to become a Hyperzoanoid, and as such was a rather imposing man. When Chronos Japan recovered one of the Guyver units, Lisker was attacked by the malfunctioning unit and became Guyver2. As a higher trained fighter he fought Guyver1 and was about to defeat him when the malfunction of the unit stopped him from continuing. Guyver1 seized this opportunity to destroy him with the megasmasher, Control Medal and all.

In the 'Out of Control' OVA lisker was replaced by a similar female character named Valcuria. We suspect this was done for the sexual connotations of the guyver merger. This much seems apparent in the way it was filmed.

Natsuki
natsuki
MANGA - OVA - TV

She originally didn't play a big part and only appeared as tetsuros partner in the Science Fiction Society. After 'X-Day' Natsuki sheltered Tetsuro and co. in her apartment. She is a christian and so strongly disagrees with chronos 'playing god' and making zoanoids. She is a very feisty character and brings cheer to the group! She also seems to be of special interest to aptom. whether there is any ground in this has yet to be seen.

-------------------------------------

Natsuki Taga is at the beginning of the series a 'throw away' character. She is merely there as their school friend and thus fades into the back ground easily.

It is not until after X-day that she becomes a defined character and a very chic young lady.

In the aftermath of the events at Mount Minakami/Relics Point Tetsuro, Mizuki, Shizu, Yohei and the Scientists who had survived the crash of the Relic approached her seeking refuge. To say she was surprised is an understatement but she hid them, even through the events of X-day, she hid them, using an appartment that was owned by her Uncle.

After X-day she is seen bringing the refugees from Chronos food and is shown to be very astute with the identification of Zoanoids, having been approached by a man on the street who was a Zoanoid she surmised, it is presumed correctly that he was a Gregole type, thus showing that she had been studying the particulars of creating Zoanoids and their human characteristics very closely.

Natsuki is continuing to hide the refugees and when Aptom and Neo Zektoll fight over Tokyo she accompanies Mizuki, Tetsuro and Shizu when they go to see who is really fighting as they had assumed that it could be either Sho or Agito. After this battle, she continues hiding them, adding Sho and Agito to the refugee list.

Later she is approached by Aptom and Hayami who force her to show them where she is hiding the others. Eventually Shizu and Agito leave her protection to resume their own battle against Chronos.

Natsuki has been a good friend and continues to aide Sho, Tetsuro, Mizuki, Hayami and Aptom in the fight against Chronos. What further role she is to play has yet to be revealed.

Richard Guyot
guyot
MANGA - OVA - TV

This man was the last to be made into a zoalord and was the 12th. He never met the chronos leader alkanphel and so was not aware of the folly of betraying him. Guyot was given the most power out of the zoalords and he had a great ambition. When the relic was excavated, there were 4 objects taken out of the interior. 3 were the guyver units, one was kept hidden. This object was the 'Remover'. We do not know how, but guyot came into the possession of the remover after the guyver units were activated. guyot intended to use the remover to gain the guyver unit and become the most powerful being on earth. Alkanphel became aware of his plan and confronted him. Guyot was silly enough to fight him and in the end, had his zoacrystal removed by alkanphel.
We thought that the end of him, but he has recently been see lurking around searching for Sho to supposedly get revenge.

Richard Guyot Variations

  • Reichmann Gyro
  • ????? ·????
  • Rehalt Gyou

He was the twelfth and last of the original Zoalords to be made.

Nothing is known about his life before his transformation into a Zoalord, five years before the Guyvers first appearance, nor even where he originally comes from.

His birth as a Zoalord was troublesome enough. Dr. Yamamura, a Chronos scientist who secretly planned to rebel, had discovered that Guyot´s ambitions reached far beyond Chronos even before his processing. Dr. Yamamura had played a major part in Guyot´s zoaform development, and had gained the trust of four experimental proto-Zoalords. By his command, they attacked the amnio-tank Guyot was being processed in. Unfortunately for them, the other Zoalords convened in the Arizona base (it seems likely Zoalords convene every time a new member joins their number) and quickly dispatched them.

Guyot reveled in his power as a Zoalord. In retrospect, choosing him as a member of the Twelve was a grandiose mistake. He never even seriously considered serving Archanfel ; although it is not know how or why, he learned of the existence of the G-units, and deduced quickly that it could increase his power far beyond that of even Archanfel, once he had been processed into a Zoalord. Even before he had undergone the process, he was already eliminating Chronos scientists who were aware of the possibility of a Zoalord merging with a G-unit. Dr. Yamamura, who had become aware of it clandestinely himself, was "under the radar" as it were and thus in a position to attempt to stop Guyot´s plan. Had the Zoalords known, they would have helped him.

As is, Guyot could calmly pursue his plans. He must already have been planning to travel to Japan to take possession of one of the G-units that had been found - probably from the second he learned they had been found. His plans were foiled by the manipulations of Agito Makishima , whose ambitions were similar to his own; the G-units were stolen by a rogue Zoanoid, and the only retrieved unit soon was destroyed.

Guyot immediately set out to get them back, auspiciously in the name of Chronos, but in reality for himself. As plan after plan to capture the Guyver failed, he fell back on the most important Chronos base in Japan - Relic´s Point, under Mount Minakami.

There, he also obtained the Unit Remover, the Creator tool that would allow him to separate G-unit and host, and claim the power of a Guyver-Zoalord for himself. The presence of fellow Zoalord Hamilcar Barcas did little to distract him - little did he realize the old man had become suspicious. But, soon enough, Archanfel himself intervened, revealing he was fully aware of Guyot´s treachery. Desperately, Guyot fled, but was eventually forced to fight Archanfel for his life. He actually managed to do away with his master and enemy by creating a black hole to absorb him!

Exhausted, he dropped to the very bottom of Relic´s Point ... only to discover the Guyvers and their allies had been hiding literally under his nose for weeks! Overjoyed, he summoned the Remover, but his attack failed - the psionic link between the two Guyvers and the Creator-ship, which they had claimed for themselves, resisted the power of the Remover.

To his surprise, Guyot also found himself challenged by Masaki Murakami , the only surviving proto-Zoalord that had preceded his own creation. Although Murakami, who was already dying from zoaform degeneration, managed to wound him sufficiently to disable him for minutes, he eventually retaliated after the ship had almost cleared the mountain, and shattered the proto-Zoalord´s Zoacrystal, killing him. In the ensuing fight, he attempted to use the Remover again... but suddenly, Archanfel, not too worse for wear for being sucked through a black hole, appeared, and unceremoniously tore the Zoacrystal from his skull. Guyot staggered back, only to be blasted by Guyver Three´s gravity cannon. His bleeding form tumbled in the abyss, the Remover still in his cramped grasp.

Since Mount Minakami almost immediately afterward was destroyed in a volcanic eruption, it was assumed, and reasonably so, that Richard Guyot was as dead as you can be.

He wasn´t.

More than a year after, his bandaged, haggard form was seen, hanging around Chronos sites, muttering to himself, and seemingly seeking revenge on the Guyver.

His status remains unknown; it is unclear how he survived the injuries he sustained at the Mount Minakami disaster, or how he continues to do so without a Zoacrystal. It is unknown whether he retains the Remover, whether he can still transform, and whether he has any allies.

He does seem to have gone more or less insane.

Richard Guyot was supposed to be one of the most powerful Zoalords. In human form, he was as strong as a Guyver, and sufficiently tough to survive being caught in a collapsing skyscraper without substantial injuries.

In his battle form, he was the biggest known Zoalord so far at 309 cm (10´1½") and 451 kg (Almost 1000 lbs.). He could control gravity, manipulating it by increasing it in a relatively large era, firing gravity pulses like bullets and firing a radiant energy beam from his Zoacrystal. In an emergency, he could release the gravity control orbs that were part of his body, and make them collide to form an artificial black hole. Such a black hole had to be collapsed very quickly, or else it could degenerate into an actual black hole. Guyot´s control over gravity was such that he could resist the gravitonic pull from a black hole, when Archanfel was sucked in. He could defend himself with a force field that could even (partially) deflect a Megasmasher blast. He was enormously tough, surviving sacrificing almost all his power to defeat Archanfel, dropping about half a mile before crashing into a concrete floor, having his torso sliced in two, his Zoacrystal yanked out and having a bowling ball-sized hole punched through his chest.

It remains to be seen whether Richard Guyot will be able to play a significant role in the power struggle between the Guyvers and Chronos.

Aptom
aptom
MANGA - OVA - TV

Aptom is one of the 'lost unit'. the lost unit was a unit of commandos that were lost number zoanoids. they were a close knit unit and were like family. Aptom has tracked sho continually and has tried to defeat him on many occasions. over time, however, Aptom is beginning to question his motives and has saved sho on occasion. He uses the cover that he wants to kill sho himself but is this the truth? Aptom is currently being controlled by the zoalord Kabraal Khan and sho is trying to save him. This could be a turning point for aptom.

APTOM Variations

  • Lost Number Aptom
  • Battle Creature Aptom
  • ????

Aptom was one of the "Lost Numbers," outcasts among the Zoanoid ranks. Nothing is known about Aptom before his life as a Zoanoid. Lost Numbers cannot be reproduced and cannot reproduce themselves, and are viewed with disdain - unique, fully dispensible warriors at best, useless gene-trash at worst. As a result, Lost Numbers tend to have a rather strong bond with each other. They live on borrowed time, without status, until they are used as cannon fodder or experimental subjects. Aptom has been both, until one day he refused to take it anymore.

This, however, would take a long time. Aptom was perhaps the most succesful Lost Number of all the others. He had been intended as a new type of Zoanoid who could take the shape of any other Zoanoid, changing his strengths and abilities to adapt to any environment or opponent. The process was not fully succesful; not only did he turn out to be a Lost Number, but Aptom's abilities in his various Zoanoid forms always fell short of the original. Nevertheless, he was deployed as a field combat soldier.

He and his two comrades, Somlum and Dyme, were a close-knit fighting unit. They were like brothers, determined to show they were worthwhile even if they had to die to do it. One day, their squad was sent to fight the Guyver. In truth, they were not expected to do anything else but slow him down. The first to die was Somlum -- destroyed by the Guyver´s Megasmasher after attempting to capture the Segawa siblings.

Dyme and Aptom next confronted the Guyver-1 (the blue Guyver unit worn by Sho Fukamachi) who was in hot pursuit of Agito Makishima, whom Sho suspected was being abducted by Chronos. The Lost Numbers used their special abilities to oppose him; Dyme took his liquid form and merged with the soil and plantlife, assaulting Guyver-1 from all sides. Aptom, for his part, mimicked the Guyver; as always, his powers were inferior to the original lifeform he imitated. Using Masaki Murakami, who had been following the Guyver for some time, as a hostage, the Lost Numbers gained a momentary advantage. But the proto-Zoalord turned his powers on Dyme long enough to allow Guyver-1 to disable Aptom, and kill Dyme. Aptom was prepared to sacrifice his life in a desperate final attack, but Dr. Balkus ordered him to flee. Aptom swore to take revenge on the Guyver for the death of his friends.

Dr. Balkus had become interested in Aptom after studying the Lost Number files; he had recalled Aptom in order to experiment on him further. Perhaps he genuinely wanted to create a new type of warrior, or perhaps it was merely a creative diversion for him. Regardless, these experiments would become a source of considerable embarassment.

Dr. Balkus altered and improved Aptom´s genetic structure, allowing Aptom to do more than just imitate other life forms. Now, his adaptive DNA would copy instead of mimick. He may have overlooked the fact (or noticed too late) that his telepathic link with Aptom became more and more strenuous as he made the creature more complex. Finally, when Balkus was finished with him, Aptom was able to perfectly copy any Zoaform he had sampled -- and for that task, the slightest touch was quite enough.

He was sent out into the field again, equipped with a special audiovisual link to supplement the lack of telepathic contact his creator had with him. Initially performing spying duties, Aptom soon discovered that even his improved abilities did not help to improve his standing among the other Zoanoids. He was still considered inferior, even worse than before -- he was thought of as a freak now. After the battle between Guyver-1 and Enzyme II, and Guyver-3´s confrontation with the Hyper-Zoanoid Team Five, Aptom decided he would no longer obey orders. He had plans of his own: he would seek out Sho Fukamachi (Guyver-1's host).

Fukamachi had lost the ability to summon the Guyver as the result of a trauma. Killing his own father, even unconsciously, had made it impossible for him to be the Guyver. Aptom had become aware of this through stalking and detailed observations of the boy. He could have killed Sho at any time (with the boy being unable to properly defend himself) but Aptom did not want that. What he wanted was to kill the Guyver; Aptom had to break Fukamachi´s trauma first.

After eliminating an entire squad of Zoanoids who were about to capture Fukamachi and Mizuki Segawa (disguised as Guyver-3), Aptom confronted his helpless quarry. He revealed himself, taking due time and care to fully explain his motivations, and took Mizuki as his hostage. Aptom threatened to torture the girl unless Fukamachi would summon the armor and fight him instead. His strategy succeeded; the Guyver reappeared with a renewed determination. Sho would be the monstrous bio-booster warrior to protect his loved ones.

Aptom did not enter into this battle with a death wish, however. Fully aware that no Zoanoid thus far exhibited the necessary skills to defeat a Guyver, Aptom displayed a new ability he had developed as his body continued to mutate further, after Dr. Balkus´s initial experiments earlier. Before beginning his obsessive stalking of Sho Fukamachi, Aptom had sampled the DNA of several other Zoanoids. And now he summoned their abilities, merging them in one huge body that combined the traits and powers of Gregole, Vamore and Enzyme II. The battle was titanic, the opponents almost evenly matched -- the surrounding landscape was devastated.

He almost managed to overwhelm the Guyver with his power. Aptom's abilities in this form were superior to those of the originals. Ultimately, Aptom's defeat was a fluke however. After disabling both of the Guyver´s arms and knee by spraying them with corrosive enzymes, he charged his massive lasers in the knowledge his enemy was immobilized and unable to use his main weapon. In a gross miscalculation, it was revealed on this occasion that the Guyver´s chest plates can actually open on their own. The Megasmasher blast vaporized Aptom´s body as a result.

The Guyver paused to pick up the only remnant of Aptom in the battlefield: a severed arm, still smoking. For a moment Sho contemplated how he had stood just so with his father´s arm in his hand, after he had killed him with his own hands. Finally, he dropped the gruesome memento and walked away. He was so overwhelmed by emotions he did not notice that the arm did not desintegrate. Not only did Aptom´s only remaining body part not desintegrate, it transformed and rearranged its tissue until it had partly resembled Aptom himself.

The Hyper-Zoanoid "Team Five," now reduced to four members since Guyver-3 had eliminated Thancrus, was sent to investigate the site of the battle. Nobody learned what exactly had happened. No other Zoanoids were present or otherwise surviving in the area. Even Aptom had vanished, after discarding his communication unit. The Hyper-Zoanoids were on edge, partly because of the immense scale of the destruction they witnessed. Their sense of impending danger was confirmed when a bizarre creature fell from a tree, seizing Elegen in a powerful grip.

It was a gruesome sight. Aptom was in his humanoid form, but all that remained of Aptom (at this point) were his head and right arm. As though the scene was not grotesque enough, Aptom's flesh immediately liquified and melted into Elegen´s body. The other Hyper-Zoanoids hurried to Elegen's aid but were called off by Dr. Balkus, who warned them not to approach or touch Aptom. The rogue Lost Number praised Balkus's insight and proceeded to explain what had happened via the vestigial telepathic link between Balkus and Elegen. Aptom had to hurry, however -- the link faded as Elegen´s cells were supplanted by Aptom's, effectively devouring Elegen on a genetic level!

Aptom explained that the continuous experimentation had unleashed further genetic potential in him. Aptom could not only copy Zoaforms after sampling them -- he could manipulate the procedure, causing the cells of other Zoanoids to copy his cells so that they actually became part of him . He would gain their abilities in the process, adding to his own genome. He found he could also simply increase his own power by absorbing a Zoaform and converting the body into energy. By the time he was done explaining, Dr. Balkus reeled with horror at the realization that he had created a sentient virus. Elegen ceased to exist; his body (organs, tissue and all) had completely been turned over to Aptom. The remaining three Hyper-Zoanoids attempted to destroy him, but Elegen´s abilities (and Aptom's own agility) protected him. He escaped, vowing that he would absorb the rest of the team as well... in due time.

In the days that followed, Aptom remained in the area around Mt. Minakami. He habitually destroyed each Zoanoid squad dispatched to locate him until he observed that feeding on regular Zoaforms would not increase his power any further. Aptom then considered absorbing a Zoalord... and Guyot would be his target. As he contemplated these things, Aptom became witness to a unique occurance. He watched in bewilderment as, from thin air, a human form appeared. Radiating power, beauty and an immensely strong sense of self-assurance, this newcomer was almost irresistible to Aptom... especially as Aptom watched his humanoid kill three Chronos agents by just gazing at them. Aptom swiftly attacked, planning to add this power to the ones he already possessed, and was promptly sliced to pieces by this creature named Alkanphel. The ancient Zoalord known as Alkanphel, founder of Chronos, remarked at how Balkus should clean up after himself before departing.

Aptom, left for dead, was anything but; Aptom was stoked even further. Merging his scattered body parts with the fresh bodies of the slain Chronos operatives, he discovered a new ability: forming multiple selves that operated seperately. Disguised and determined as he was, he had no trouble in entering the base -- posing as a miscellaneous scout party. Surreptitiously following the three remaining Hyper-Zoanoids, Aptom waited until they split up to make his strike. First, he successfully assimilated Gastor (who had remained in the control center) while a second Aptom clone stalked Darzerb and Zektoll. Striking from an ambush, this clone of Aptom failed to absorb either of them; Zektoll destroyed every last atom of this Aptom clone. Shaken by the horrific appearance and near-obsession of the Aptom lifeform (as even charred indistinguishable splotches of flesh were still trying to attack) the remaining Hyper-Zoanoids were joined by Gastor. Zektoll's warning came too late for Darzerb; the slightest touch was enough to achieve Aptom's horrible goal, and even though Zektoll blasted the pseudo-Gastor into oblivion, it was too late... his comrade changed into a new hybrid amalgam, combining traits of Elegen, Gastor, and Darzerb. The mocking voice, however, was Aptom´s.

Zektoll realized that he had to act quickly. Considering the speed with which Aptom acquired new abilities, it was imperative that Zektoll destroy every last piece of Aptom or the rogue Zoanoid would become unstoppable. Swiftly, Zektoll unfolded his wings -- wings that did not enable his massive form to fly -- and drained all light and heat from the surroundings. Aptom, confused and fascinated by the elaborate display at the same time, realized just in time what was going to happen and successfully avoided the blast of Zektoll´s main weapon.

The power of this blast was astonishing - it rivaled the Guyver´s Megasmasher. But unlike that weapon, this one was burned out with just one shot. Winded and weakened, Zektoll staggered through the smouldering debris to find any sign that Aptom survived. Aptom did: half a torso, a head, and one arm remained -- hanging precariously from a concrete slab over a 4000-foot chasm. Zektoll trained his laser cannons on the remnants to expend his last bit of energy to rid the world of Aptom, but then the rogue played his ace in the hole -- the third body he had taken over attacked Zektoll, and the only remaining Hyper-Zoanoid had to literally shoot his own leg off to avoid being assimilated. Zektoll barely escaped the encounter.

The Aptoms didn´t care. They acquired his genome as well with the slightest touch, and as they merged, Aptom rearranged his collection of powers and traits into a body that combined all of them in optimal performance. He would maintain it unchanged for a long time. After observing the goings-on further down in the base, Aptom decided this was not the time to hunt any more Zoalords. He vanished and remained in seclusion for several months.

This period began with "X-day", the day which had been planned for centuries; the day on which Chronos conquered the world. All over the world, Zoanoids suddenly appeared at strategic positions. Military bases were taken over. People in positions of power were revealed to be Zoanoids in disguise. Within twenty-four hours, Chronos was in control of the world in any way that mattered.

This was all the more reason for Aptom to lay low. He hid where he would be least conspicuous: in the largest concentration of people in the world, Tokyo. Conveniently, this allowed him to remain close to a small group of people who had is undivided interest: Mizuki Segawa and her brother, and Shizu Onuma and her grandfather. After escaping Mt. Minakami, they had found shelter with Natsuki Taga, an old friend of Mizuki and Sho, horrified at Chronos´ takeover. The Guyvers seemed to have disappeared. But if they would return, it was a no-brainer that they would soon come to find their friends. Until this happened, Aptom made sure that no Chronos agent who recognized any member of the group actually got any chance to act on it. Thus, Aptom acted as a quiet sentinel for several months without any of his unsuspecting wards being the wiser.

But Aptom's actions did not go entirely unnoticed. Dr. Balkus could not allow Aptom to run free -- after all, the creation of this horrible rogue lifeform was his fault. Zektoll approached Balkus, requesting to be turned into a new form capable of hunting and killing Aptom, and was granted his wish. Searching for his quarry was not as difficult as it might seem; it was only logical that he would hide among people, and given this it was just a matter of looking for aberrations (like a series of unexplained disappearings). Zoanoids do not just vanish -- not when they only confronted mere human beings.

It was no surprise, then, that Zektoll managed to eventually track down his target. The confrontation was cataclysmic; they were, after all, the two most powerful Zoanoids in the entire world -- one fighting for his life, the other with nothing to lose. Zektoll had become a "Lost Number" to gain his new power, and his lifespan had been drastically shortened. Aptom soon discovered that Neo-Zektoll, as his adversary now called himself, was more powerful than him. When Aptom attempted to assimilate Neo-Zektoll, he discovered he could not ! Dr. Balkus infected Zektoll with a tailored virus that precluded Aptom from assilimating Neo-Zektoll's cells and tissue, and counter-acted upon Aptom's own regenerative ability as well. Outclassed and overpowered, Aptom soon crashed to the ground, his body partly blown away. It was a matter of seconds before Neo-Zektoll would atomize him.

Something very strange and (in a redeeming sense) poignant happened to Aptom at this juncture. Tetsuro, Mizuki (et al.) had been watching TV and of course the midair battle between two huge monsters had been all over the news. The images were unclear, so the entire gang rushed out to see for themselves whether the Guyver had perhaps returned. They all stood baffled before an unknown Zoaform who turned into a naked man before their eyes. Mizuki recognized him, since she had first met him in exactly that state. As he regained consciousness and saw who were standing around him, Aptom's first words were a warning to flee before his enemy descended and would see them -- too late, unfortunately.

Neo-Zektoll was overjoyed that he could deal with even more enemies of Chronos than he had expected. But he was stopped from destroying them by the arrival of Guyver-3 and a huge alien pod. Neo-Zektoll immediately engaged his other archenemy, but although Aptom attempted to help the Guyver with a hastily launched bio-missile, the Hyper-Zoanoid defeated Aptom anyway -- and Aptom was decimated to little more than a head and shoulders for his effort. Helpless, his healing ability stunted by the virus, he could only watch as the Guyver Gigantus rose to defend his friends (and accidentally, an enemy). Neo-Zektoll was destroyed, and Aptom managed to absorb a careless Zoanoid (the spy Rocies) and make good on his escape.

In the weeks that followed, as his body defeated the virus, Aptom considered his options, and decided that under the circumstances he would do better to join forces with the Guyver party. When Guyver-1 and 3 had their first battle with Imakarum Mirabilis, Aptom eventually joined in the fight as he realized they were not going to beat the Zoalord on their own. In the end, the Gigantic Guyver saved his life, as so Aptom had saved the Guyver´s.

Fighting Chronos together created a tenuous connection among them, a sense that they shared an enemy which neither of them could defeat on their own. And when all was said and done, Aptom could forgive Sho Fukamachi for the death of his friends; they were all victims of Chronos. Aptom was unsure as to how he should contact the small band, when something completely unexpected and amazing happened.

Aptom felt he was being followed, observed, by a Zoaform; his predatory senses alerted him. As Aptom turned upon the unfortunate victim to consume him, Aptom started to transform. But Aptom halted the process and staggered back a step. As the other returned to his human form, a shocked meeting between friends took place; this Zoanoid was not only a Lost Number, but also Toshiaki Hayami!

Aptom remembered Hayami from his days in Relic´s Point. He had been a scientist, not a Zoanoid, let alone a Lost Number. He had escaped Mt. Minakami along with the others before they had split up, and he and the other scientists had worked feverishly to combat the virus that had enhanced their brains, but now would kill them. There was only one recourse: they had undergone the process, one by one, and had turned themselves into Lost Numbers so they would be able to escape the control of the Zoalords. Toshiaki Hayomi was the only survivor of the ordeal.

All this Aptom recounted to the small band of friends -- after Aptom had taken him to them. They tolerated the rogue Zoanoid without trusting him, but that would soon change. Aptom was the first to realize they were being watched -- responding by blasting the spy, and warning the others. Almost immediately, the house was blown apart from under them by bio-blaster fire. Guyver-3, the Gigantus and Aptom in his insectoid Zoanoid form flew off, carrying their helpless friends along.

Soon, the group faced not only a band of the deadliest Zoanoids Chronos had ever created, the Enzyme III type, but also the second most powerful Zoalord... Imakarum Mirabilis. The Gigantic Guyver engaged Mirabilis, while Aptom and Guyver-3 confronted the Hyper-Zoanoids. In the fight, Aptom discovered the new Enzymes were immune to his absorbtion ability just like Neo-Zektoll had been, and had also been fitted with a variant of the regeneration-inhibiting virus. They also regenerated unbelievably quickly because their metabolisms had been sped up a dozenfold. Desperately, Aptom resorted to a sacrifice gambit: grasping the four Hypers and holding them in a powerful grip, he gave Guyver-3 the opportunity to blast all of them at once.

When the smoke cleared... Aptom survived yet again . Like Neo-Zektoll, Aptom had used an electromagnetic force-shield to cleave the megasmasher beam around him. Although his limbs and most of his torso had been sheared off, Aptom remained. And helpless on the ground, regenerating incredibly slowly, as one surviving Enzyme III dug out of the ground it had burrowed in. Aptom could do nothing but watch as the Enzyme III slaughtered the old man Yohei Onuma when he attempted to protect Makishima. Finally, all Aptom could do was fire a single laser blast from his forehead that distracted the Guyver-Killer long just enough for Hayami to transform into his Zoanoid form: Biofreezer. Though the energy-drain almost finished him, he disabled the Hyper-Zoanoid by freezing it into a hideous ice-sculpture... after which Guyver-3 used his sonic oscillator to reduce it to powder. Even as they were recovering from the shock, a new one came. Imakarum Mirabilis had returned, a helpless Guyver-1 in his grasp. The Gigantus had failed. But Makishima refused to give in -- commanding Guyver-1 to summon the Gigantic pod, he merged with it instead... and the Gigantic Dark rose.

Aptom later heard that while he laid motionlessly on the ground like an invalid, slowly regrowing his body, the Gigantic Dark had defeated the Zoalord. Indeed, had as good as killed that Zoalord. Afterward, however, Aptom was more stunned to hear why the Gigantic Guyver had failed: not because he was not strong enough, but because he could not bring himself to killing his friend, Masaki Murakami.

The revelation stung. It burned Aptom inside, he was so angry. In the days after the fight, Aptom brooded, finally confronting Sho Fukamachi. In the shape of Rocies, he lured Guyver-1 from their new hideout to an abandoned industrial terrain. And there, in the shape of the entire Hyper-Zoanoid Team Five as well as Mirabilis, Aptom proceeded to beat the shock out of Guyver-1 -- Gigantic or not. Halfway through the fight, Guyver-3 called the Gigantic armor to him, and then and only then did Aptom reveal himself. Ostensibly, it was frustration at Sho's inability to kill the Zoalord, and he told Sho this after he had changed back into his own form, that Sho had better shape up if he wanted to defend his loved ones. But perhaps this fight was more to Aptom -- a last opportunity to kill (or not kill) the Guyver. In the end, Aptom did not.

He had finally shed his emotional baggage, and had clarified his purpose for himself. And then, everything was turned upside-down again. Only a short while after his battle with the Guyver, a bizarre incident lured Aptom out to battle again; apparently, the Gigantic Guyver had gone on a rampage through the centre of Tokio, laying waste to buildings and people alike. It was soon revealed that a composite Hyper-Zoanoid had committed these acts to draw out the real thing... but after the Gigantic Guyver had eradicated the imposter, he found himself facing Pulukshterl. The Zoalord who had been set in charge of Japan was not aware that the Guyver was innocent... and a terrible battle ensued. Aptom attempted to interfere, but Fukamachi angrily dismissed him -- it was his fight and his alone. But even as he had the Zoalord on the ropes, disaster struck. Guyver-3 once again summoned the Gigantic armor, with sublime disregard of Guyver-1´s predicament. Three further Zoalords had appeared and Sho Fukamachi suddenly found himself facing four God Generals without the power of his super-armor to back him up. It was Aptom who saved him then; transforming all of his bio-mass into missiles, he pelted the Zoalords with a ceaseless barrage of explosives, giving the Guyver a chance to escape underground. When the smoke had cleared, nothing was left of Aptom.

Or so it seemed. In reality, every eighth missile had flown away from the blast zone, landing softly on a nearby roof... where they seemed to melt and fuse together to once again form Aptom. A brilliant strategy, but before he could fully collect himself Aptom felt an icy touch. The Zoalord Kablar Khan had seen through his plan and, using his special powers, turned Aptom to stone.

Stone: motionless and perhaps unconscious. A lifeless statue, that was taken with the three Zoalords -- the three traitors, for they had murdered Pulukshterl. It had all been part of their plan, and Aptom could now become one of their pawns as well. Storing his petrified form inside Chronos headquarters "Cloud-Gate," they broadcasted his capture on television... drawing his comrades out to save him. Guyver-1 and Toshiaki Hayomi (as BioFreezer) set out to secretly infiltrate the Chronos facility. They managed to reach the chamber where, suspended from electrical cables, hung Aptom´s lifeless stone body. But in trying to release him, they set off a booby-trap. An explosion shattered the brittle body into thousands of splinters that stayed lifeless, unmoving.

Aptom seemed to have been finally destroyed.

But one small speck of his being remained alive inside the stony shell: a tiny, isolated "tumor" of cells had survived the explosion and had found sustenance to rebuild itself. The Hyper-Zoanoid Gastal, set to invisibly follow the Guyver and Hayomi, was absorbed -- and Aptom lived again!

He had changed, however. He did not respond to his friends until he actually tried to absorb the Guyver. This failed, and the Guyver and Hayomi, realizing something was amiss, fled. Aptom followed, and a group of Zoanoids that came to engage the intruders served as food for the rogue Lost Number. Fusing their ravaged forms into one huge, monstrous body, Aptom raced after the Guyver and engaged him in battle. During the fight, Guyver-1 started to scan Aptom´s body to confirm his suspicion that his friend was being controlled. And, indeed, Aptom took care to destroy any fragments of his body that were somehow separated. Soon, it was discovered that Gastal, a pawn of the rogue Zoalords, had contained a special control-implant. Aptom had absorbed the implant along with the rest of him, and the implant now acted as his mind... making sure the Aptom-cells did not grow a brain of their own, and he could be controlled by Kabral Khan.

The Guyver faced the problem of destroying the implant without destroying Aptom himself.

Aptom was a shapeshifter from the very beginning, who could take virtually any form -- at least any Zoaform, since Aptom was never able to change his human form. In any case, although his development is theoretically constant, Aptom's changes are usually referred to in phases.

PHASE ONE: Lost Number. Capable of imitating the traits of any Zoanoid and perhaps any organism, but with only about half their power and capacity. This stage is commonly identified with the "Pseudo-Guyver" form he took to fight Guyver-1.

PHASE TWO: Advanced Lost Number; altered by Dr. Balkus, he no longer just imitated but copied Zoaforms after sampling their DNA. He also managed to impersonate a Guyver much more convincingly. He developed the ability to combine traits of different Zoanoids in a single form, and increase their power output geometrically. Associated with the composite Gregole/Vamore/Enzyme Two-form.

PHASE THREE: Battle Creature; perhaps mutated, Aptom had acquired the ability to absorb other Zoanoids instead of just sampling them. He would either assimilate their body to add to his biological mass, or consume their structure altogether and add to his energy reserves. The form that best represents this short period is the Elegen/Gaster/Derzerb composite form.

PHASE FOUR: Perfect Form; having reached a stable plateau, he created a form for himself that combined the most powerful abilities he had acquired, in a form that optimized their tactical usefulness. There was no point to changing it; no change would improve it. This bodyform most resembled Zektoll.

PHASE FIVE: Chaos Form; with his body invaded by a control implant, Aptom became a senseless killing machine, spreading himself almost as a liquid, absorbing Zoanoids at an unprecedented rate. The form he took represents his mindlessness: asymmetrical, hideous, chaotic.

There is no real telling anymore just how many special abilities Aptom has added to his own and this list is by no means complete. At all.

  • Super-strength (Well above Guyver-level)
  • Laser weapons (At least as powerful as Zektoll´s)
  • Biochemical explosives production
  • Organic missile production
  • Bio-electricity generation
  • Heat resistance and heat generation (Both to thousands of degrees)
  • Adaptive armor (Combining qualities of at least three Hyper-Zoanoids with special armors)
  • Radiant energy absorbtion
  • Electromagnetic flight
  • Electromagnetic shielding
  • Anti-Guyver enzyme secretion
  • Telescopic vision
  • Invisibility
  • Super-cooling ability

Masaki Murakami
murakami
MANGA - OVA - TV

Murakami was a reporter, and was investigating in new guinea. His party were attacked by zoanoids and murakami was captured and used as a prototype zoalord. It is likely he was chosen due to good genetics and excellent health. When he was processed into the protozoalord, a scientist, Dr Yamamura, enlisted his help to launch a rebellion, and destroy Guyot while he was still being processed. It seems Yamamura was aware of Guyots ambitions. Murakami and his fellow prototypes failed and were all caught apart from Murakami. He then tracked the location of the Guyvers to try and enlist their help in fighting Chronos.
Murakami fought along with the Guyver for a while and got killed in the fight against Guyot at relics point.

---------------------------------------

Masaki Murakami... Little is known about his early life, apart from the fact that, in college, one of his professors was Shinichiro Yamamura . He became a free-lance journalist, apparently specializing in spectacular articles, because his last assignment would take him to deepest, darkest New Guinea to investigate rumors about sightings of monsters. The rumors were true, as he found out to his detriment - the local guides he had hired transformed into hideous monsters that killed the rest of his party in seconds and took him captive. He had stumbled unto one of Chronos´ secret Zoanoid testing grounds, and now his fate as their prisoner was to be a test subject. But not just any test subject...

He was taken to Arizona, to Chronos Headquarters, where he, to his shock, met dr. Yamamura. As it turned out, the doctor had met with the same fate as him, fifteen years earlier. He had been forced to work in Chronos´ science department ever since. And now, he was to cooperate in using Masaki and three other victims as test subjects, guinea pigs in a very special project.

But this was not all. Even as Murakami underwent the first treatments and his body began to change, Yamamura inducted him into his private conspiracy. He and the three other test subjects were to use their short-lived powers to attack the person to whom their lives were being sacrificed: Richard Guyot.

Murakami and the other three were test subjects for the various physical modifications that would make Guyot the final Zoalord. This made them Proto-Zoalords, possessed of powers similar to those he would possess, if far less potent. But this, Yamamura explained, would not matter while Guyot was still in the processing tank. Their objective and the only thing that mattered was to eliminate him. It would be a suicide mission for all of them - but if Guyot survived, not only their lives, but those of everyone in the whole world were at stake. Yamamura had discovered Guyot planned to obtain a G-unit, which would dramatically increase his soon-to-be-gained Zoalord power. and would allow him to take over Chronos and the world. And the doctor could not simply tell the other Zoalords, because things would be just as bad if THEY came to possess the bio-boosted armor. Guyot would have to be assassinated without anyone realizing why.

Fate can be fickle. While it had favored Yamamura so far, it broke down on the day the four set out to destroy Guyot. While there were no Zoanoids that could stop them, on that very day, the other eleven Zoalords convened in Arizona, presumably on the occasion of the birth of their latest and final member. They made short work of the attackers - but one of them managed to escape, and dr.Yamamura managed to smuggle him off the base at the cost of his own life.

HAMILCAR BARCAS

  • Hamilcal Balcus

The second Zoalord in the world. He must have been born in the first half of the 16th century. Near the end of that century, Hamilcar Barcas, an old man, undertook his probably last ocean journey aboard a Dutch merchant vessel. Halfway across the Atlantic, a powerful current, a vortex, pulled in the ship; all hands were lost. Except for the old man, who washed up on the beach of a densely forested island. Dazed, despairing of ever seeing a living human being again, and perhaps not caring anyway, he set out to explore the place where fate had landed him.

One of the first things he saw was a dragonfly the size of a seagull, enough to give anyone the shakes. Forcing his way on, he soon encountered something like a moving mountain - a living Brachiosaur, although the creature would not be called that for more than 300 years. Shaken, running, the old man was perhaps happily surprised to hear the gentle voices of girls, speaking in a foreign tongue, nearby. He made his way to their voices, but when they came into view, he must have thought he had really gone insane. The voices belonged to mermaids, sirens, lovely girls with the tails of fish instead of legs. For a moment he stood stunned, the mermaids giggling and mocking the old man in their unknown language. Then, he broke and ran away from this insane place. Of course, he was soon out of breath... then, finally, he noticed a vast building, a temple, perhaps. Finally, something that had been built - a sign, then, of a civilization. He made his way to the entrance, but soon found that the immense structure was overgrown with plants and abandoned. Still fascinated, and having surrendered himself to the thought he would die here, his only goal now was to explore the temple. He found inscriptions, images that seemed to indicate a great and terrible power was hidden inside the temple. Making his way into the dark and musty temple further and further, he eventually found what lay buried here. A central, cloistered room, like a heart inside a great beast of stone; an enormous, gelatinous drop, transparent, grasped between two massive clusters of fibrous tendrils, like between two hands. And inside the fluid...

A slender, naked figure - androgynous, elfin, frail... as Barcas moved closer to look at the angelic being, his mind brushed against something infinitely older and greater, now stirring awake. The suspended figure opened its eyes. Barcas fell to his knees. He, who had thought his life would end here, had instead found a completely new life.

Hamilcar Barcas had stumbled upon the greatest secret in the world, the secret of the purpose of the life that crawled on its surface, of its origin and destiny. He had awoken Archanfel, the first Zoalord. And he had immediately, instinctively realized that this being was to be his master.

Archanfel accepted his servitude graciously, and after learning from the old man all he needed to know, took him along on their first journey. Their first scouting trip. First of all, he took the old man to the place that would become his headquarters, his home: a mesa in the desert, somewhere in the west of the newly discovered continent America. Here, in this place that would be called Arizona, lay buried a precious relic, all that remained of one of the mighty ships of the Creators. Archanfel charged and entrusted his first human servant with its care.

Soon, Archanfel used the ancient biotechnology he had managed to maintain to transform the old man into a sort of Zoalord, a being that was a little bit like him. Immortal, gifted with powers far beyond those of normal men. He commanded him to start operations to gradually change all of mankind into Zoanoids. To prepare the means to leave Earth with an army of them. And he charged him with finding ten others like him, ten suitable individuals that would serve him as well as Hamilcar Barcas would. It took him almost 400 years.

Barcas found Shin first in Armenia, found Waferdanos next on a remote island and found Pulukshterl in Vienna. Barcas eventually found and transformed the twelfth and last Zoalord that was required. All this time he had gone on with rediscovering and refining the "process". And when everything was almost ready to openly start global operations, a disaster struck. A series of disasters. In Japan, in an impossibly living Relic, viable G-units were found... and almost immediately stolen. Archanfel had told him to look out for such objects - and he had dropped the ball. Richard Guyot, the newest Zoalord, went to get them back just a little too eagerly. The lost G-units merged with human beings to reappear as gruesome killing machines, hell-bent on destroying Chronos. Guyot turned traitor. Aptom, one of Barcas´ own creations, turned against Chronos. When Archanfel finally intervened himself, it was too late to save anything - too late for anything except damage control. Guyot was eliminated, the Guyvers disappeared, the Unit Remover lost, Aptom remained at large and the Minakami Relic was destroyed. Almost desperately, Archanfel declared it was time to take over the world, which was done.

In the calm months after X-day , Barcas concentrated on growing the immense space ship Archanfel had charged him with creating. Using a chunk of the destroyed Minakami Relic as its base and the Dead Sea as a titanic amniotic tank, he indeed created a 50-kilometre long spaceship, and experienced the triumph of seeing it fly into space, powered by the Twelve Zoalords.

As a sort of side project, he had personally re-engineered Zx-tole into a special Lost Number Hyper-Zoanoid capable of hunting and killing Aptom. But this creation ultimately failed when a far superior opponent turned up.

More trouble lay ahead. The Guyvers had reappeared in a terrifying new form, potent enough to challenge even a Zoalord. Inside Chronos itself, something was rotten, and he almost desperately reached out to some of the Zoalords he had processed himself for support. Confiding in someone else than Archanfel for the first time in perhaps centuries, he told them his story.

Soon after, shaken by a series of attacks on Chronos facilities, he travelled to Arizona. Gigantic Dark, a new breed of renegade Zoanoids and even a twisted female parody of a Zoalord, were causing trouble. Barcas had returned to defend this most sacred stronghold from the hands of his enemies. Here, he personally took a stand against the Gigantic Dark, the Zoalords Yentsui and Waferdanos by his side. This may finally be the end of his long life. He will not go gently.

Doctor Barcas is the most powerful telepath of all Zoalords, after Archanfel. Even in human form, he can effortlessly fly and project beams of radiant energy. He is far and away the greatest specialist in the knowledge of Zoaforms in the world, again with the possible exception of Archanfel. His devotion to the ideals of Chronos, and more particular those of his master, is complete. Individual humans mean nothing to him; he has seen humans die like flies in senseless wars, and from random violence, and from diseases throughout four and a half centuries. Their destiny as Zoanoids is the highest they can aspire to, in his opinion; nothing may stand in the way of attaining that destiny.

Hamilcar Barcas appears as an old man (approximately 70 years old) with a patriarchal beard and very long white hair. The top of his head, however, is bald. A red crystal of roughly the size and shape of a dove´s egg protrudes from his forehead. What his Zoaform looks like is unknown, or indeed whether he even transforms at all.

It is possible Hamilcar Barcas was not his real name; perhaps he changed his name, as Zoalords seem to do sometimes, to underline the change in his life. Hamilcar Barcas was originally the name of a Carthaginian general, the father of the great conquerors Hannibal and Hasdrubal. Maybe he took the name to express his role as a "father of warriors".

Doctor Yamamura

Used to be a university professor to Murakami. When he was taken in by chronos, he resented them and made his plans to rebel. He found out about Guyots plans and decided it was best to take care of him first. He led the rebellion of the protozoalords. It failed. He was undoubtedly executed.

-------------------------------------

Shinichiro Yamamura... in a way, he was the great forebear of the Guyvers, for he was perhaps the first person to oppose Chronos, and if not for his actions, everything might have been different.

Dr.Yamamura was a scientist, presumably a historian or archeologist, who not only performed research of his own, but also taught at university. One of his students was one Masaki Murakami, whom he would meet again, years later, under much different circumstances.

The good doctor, as said, also did research of his own. During one of his investigations, he hit upon a dangerous secret. In the 1960´s, the Takeshiro region had been shook by a series of earthquakes, centered around Mount Minakami. Fascinated by the mysterious mountain and the legends that surrounded it, the professor did extensive investigations into the mountain... and then, he discovered too much.

Mount Minakami hid a Chronos base, probably the most important one in the world. They could not possibly let him go; he knew too much. They must have offered him a choice: to put his mind in service of Chronos, or die, probably as a guinea pig in some gruesome experiment. He chose to serve, reasoning that he might be able to work the system from within somehow, and perhaps oppose Chronos. He would bide his time.

He had to wait a long time. His achievements as a scientist did not go unnoticed, and as he gained a more lofty position in Chronos, he also gathered all the information he could. He got so good at this, that he came to know things he was not only not supposed to know, but also that no-one else knew. So it was, almost fifteen years after he had become Chronos´ prisoner, that he gradually became aware of something extremely worrisome. In Japan, something called the "Unit-G" had been discovered, in Relic´s point of all places. Several scientists had been charged with preliminary research and data analysis... but somehow, some of them died under mysterious circumstances. Correlating his data, dr.Yamamura reached a worrying conclusion: someone was murdering scientists who were privy to very specific information about the "Unit-G". And that someone was extremely highly placed in the Chronos hierarchy. In the end, he discovered it was Richard Guyot, a man who was to become a Zoalord, the last Zoalord. Combined with what he had gleaned about the Unit-G, it led to a terrifying conclusion: Guyot meant to take the Unit for himself, and enhance the power he would have as a Zoalord to infinity. If he succeeded, the tyranny of Chronos, which was sure to come, would be supplanted by the only thing which would be worse: a tyranny by one ruthless madman with the power of a God.

He could not simply tell the Zoalords that they should eliminate this serpent in their midst. The G-Unit should not fall in their hands, either. He thought of something.

During the time before Guyot was processed into a Zoalord, several proto-Zoalords were created, powerful guinea pigs for the Zoa-Form he would receive. Yamamura contacted them on Arizona Base and befriended them, gained their trust and finally confided in them. To his surprise, one of them was none other than his previous student, Masaki Murakami. Involved in the project, he invested perhaps that much more effort in his processing than in those of the others.

Then, the day came to strike. The preparations were over, the guinea pigs had served their purpose, and now basically waited until they would be disposed of. Richard Guyot floated limp and senseless in the amnio-tank from which he would emerge a Zoalord... unless someone stopped the process before time. Dr.Yamamura sent his four charges out. Rushing through the base, fighting from their secluded quarters to the strongly defended processing tank, they slowly made their way to their target: Guyot. They would destroy him. They would probably die, but only a little sooner than they inevitably would; the death of the Zoalord-to-be would be explained as revenge, and his plans would be undone.

But what Yamamura could not foresee, was that, perhaps as part of a special induction ceremony, the eleven Zoalords that already walked the Earth were present in the Arizona base. The proto-Zoalords were swiftly rounded up and destroyed, and Guyot was reborn as a Zoalord as planned.

Even now, Yamamura did not surrender. He managed to salvage the situation to a small extent; one of the proto-Zoalords, Murakami, managed to escape, aided by the doctor. As a result, his involvement in the action was discovered, but he had chosen it this way. His pupil had now taken the torch to oppose Chronos, and he faced his fate without fear.

It is not known whether he was killed for his rebellion, although it seems likely. If Guyot was told, he probably killed the doctor himself. Perhaps Chronos would make it a point to make an example of the rebel. The final fate of dr.Shinichiro Yamamura remains unknown.

A man of honor. He is perhaps the 3rd of the zoalords, after Shin and Balcus. He was found by Balcus 2 centuries ago in Vienna. He took over command of the Japan section after X-day. He has had to deal with a lot, and was unfortunate enough to be manipulated by his fellow zoalords. He mistakenly believed Guyver Gigantic was attacking the city. This was in fact a mimic of the Gigantic and at the same time unbeknownst to pulukshterl, the real Gigantic was fighting this imposter. As Pulukshterl arrived o the scene the imposter was destroyed leaving a very fired up Guyver Gigantic. A battle ensued and Pulukshterl was on the verge of losing. Sho would not have killed him however Pulukshterl died on that day. His death is mysterious but relates to 3 other zoalords suspicious activities.

FRIEDRICH VON PULUKSHTERL

A Zoalord. Judging from his name and the fact that he was selected to become one of the Twelve in Vienna, 215 years ago, we can safely assume he is Austrian by birth. His name may very well indicate he was in fact a member of the aristocratic family of the counts of Purgstall.

Idealistic, ethical despite his position, Purgstall was probably one of the best choices to be made into a Zoalord, from humanity´s point of view. He had a strong, a very strong sense of duty and honour. It was perhaps this more than anything else that formed a strong bond between him and Shin; the two were close comrades, a rare thing among people of their terrible power. Another thing they had in common was their loyalty to Archanfel. It turned out to be a fatal flaw for Pulukshterl.

No less than three times, his sense of responsibility in combination with the Gigantic Guyver got him into serious personal danger. The third time cost him his life.

After X-day, he was placed in charge of Japan (and perhaps more; in any case, his base of operations was Cloud-Gate, the immense sky scraper in Tokyo). Since this is also the principal territory of Guyver One, clashes were inevitable. Whenever the Gigantic Guyver appeared, he rushed out to meet him, and to defend the people in his care. The first time was during the battle with Neo-Zx-tole; Pulukshterl got caught in the wake of the Gigasmasher´s blast and was incapacitated. He required treatment before being able to resume his duty. The second time, he arrived at the scene after the battle between the Gigantic Dark and Imakarum Mirabilis, minutes after a black hole had razed his city. This time, he avoided serious injury. The final time, he was intentionally lured into battle with the Guyver Gigantic - betrayed by three rogue Zoalords, using a composite Hyper-Zoanoid as the bait. The battle was fierce. Pulukshterl managed to catch the Gigantic in his mightiest attack, an electrical discharge that pummeled the ground like an inverted volcano. But although the Gigantic Guyver was weakened, he would not stop fighting. Eventually, weakened and at the point of collapsing, Pulukshterl was backed up by three of his fellow Zoalords; their combined might chased the Guyver (who no longer was in Gigantic mode) and his ally Aptom away. But still Pulukshterl died that day - stabbed in the back, murdered by his own kind. It seems likely that the actual killer was Kurumeggnik. His death shall neither be forgotten nor forgiven by his friend, Shin.

He possessed the standard Zoalord powers, such as telepathic communication with other Zoaforms, super strength, flying ability and projecting radiant energy beams. In his battleform, Pulukshterl was one of the more human-looking Zoalords; less a monster like Guyot than a man in armor. He controlled electric power, like lightning, summoning it from the sky at will. Alternatively, he could fire a beam of electrical energy from his chest crystal. From the Zoacrystal in his forehead, he could fire the standard energy beam. He could not only generate a forcefield around him, but also in the confines of his body, as a structural integrity field.

Director Odagiri
odagiri
MANGA - TV

He was the head of the basement level of relics point. He was also against chronos. He sheltered the group when they fled from Guyot. Little did he realize they were hiding under his very feet! Dr Odagiri was developing a way to free scientists from the virus chronos had implanted in them. Unfortunately, he was killed protecting Murakami.

------------------------------

Dr. Shiyu Odagiri was the deputy head of the "Basement" research labs at Relic´s Point, the Chronos base at Mount Minakami. The Basement was devoted to studying the Relic itself. Although dr.Shirai was the nominal head of the department, he was completely devoted to research, and dr. Odagiri was practically speaking the manager of the operation.

Not much is known about the good doctor´s life before he was forced to join Chronos (nor how this came about) except that his family was independently wealthy. He was considered very important as a scientist considering his position, and may have been the most prominent non-processed human operative Chronos employed at the time.

He had not volunteered to join Chronos; they forced him to work for them - by using a special, tailored virus which enhances the cerebral functions, but requires regular injections with antigens, because otherwise the subject dies. All non-processed Chronos scientists are infected with this bio-agent to increase their productivity and ensure their loyalty. There is only one cure for the virus and that is to be processed.

And yet, dr.Odagiri fostered rebellious thoughts. He had become inspired to realize his wish for freedom by the actions of a man he never met: dr. Shinichiro Yamamura , a Chronos scientist who had been in virtually the same predicament as him, and yet had chosen to rebel. Finding that several other young scientists in his division felt the same, he slowly started to work in small ways towards escape, acquiring knowledge not relevant to his department. Knowledge that would allow them to process themselves some day and thus free themselves from the virus.

Even as their plans slowly proceeded, something amazing happened. The Units-G, alien weapons which had been retrieved from the living ship called the Relic, had fallen into the hands of enemies of Chronos. Now, these enemies by complete coincidence crossed paths with the scientists of the Basement. Dr. Odagiri offered them shelter, allowing them to hide under the very nose of Chronos.

One of their number was Masaki Murakami, who had been at dr. Yamamura´s side when he had staged his rebellion. Although Dr.Odagiri managed to heal the injuries he had sustained while fighting Commander Guyot, he had to tell him that his body was degenerating and that, even if he did not exert himself at all, he might live scant months more.

Two others of the fugitives were Guyvers... and that changed everything.

The Relic was a Creator Ship, and Dr.Odagiri theorized that a bio-boosted human could do what no other organism on the planet might - enter the vessel and perhapt even control it. The Relic lay at the bottom of the vertical shaft that housed the base - if it were to activate and fly upward and out, it would destroy Mount Minakami.

The Guyvers indeed managed to take control of the ship and prepared to fly it, but then disaster struck. At the very day, in the very hour that everything was to come to fruition, Archanfel, Chronos´ mysterious leader, had come to Relic´s point to unmask Commander Guyot´s treason. Panicked, the lesser Zoalord fought him - and after seemingly defeating him, dropped to the bottom of the base. There, he confronted the Guyvers and their ally, Masaki Murakami. Jumping to defend his newfound ally, Dr.Odagiri was struck by Guyot´s attack instead, and died - died happily, in the knowledge he had died with a fist raised against Chronos.

After the Guyver´s party - or part of it - and their scientist allies had escaped the base, they split up; the four young scientists had been given instructions to go to dr.Odagiri´s mansion and use it as their hide-out. Later, Sho Fukamachi and his friends also found shelter here. So, even after his death, the good doctor helped his friends.

Every now and then he has to take a period of rest. It is unknown what caused this but it is imagined that the creators may have somehow given him this affliction when they left.
He has a Definite authorative aura about him. Any who meet him are enthralled.

Archanfel Variations

Once, many millions of years ago, the Creators descended on Earth and made it their laboratory. After hundreds of thousands of millennia, and doubtlessly billions of experiments, they had created a small army of beings, each of them the representation of an almost eternal search for the ultimate battle creature: the Zoanoid. Small, with a quick metabolism and high reproductive rate, these beings had the ability to transform into a monstrous warrior at a single command. Now, all the Creators required was a general to command their armies.

To this end, they took everything they had learned during the ages that lay behind them and went several steps further with it. Using human stock, they refined and improved, perhaps for years, until from their labours rose their ultimate creation.

He appeared human, but a more perfect and beautiful human than any other on the planet. Unlike their shaggy, almost ape-like forms, his body was slender, hairless and elegant. His intellect was far above those of the Zoanoids. He entered the world with perfect innocence, with a clarity in his mind that is farrely found. The goals in his life were clearly imprinted on him, and he rejoiced in his position in life. He felt honored,in the right place, and was determined to the very roots of his existence to fulfill his biological being to perfection - and he would have... if betrayal had not come from where it was least expected.

His Creators named him Archanfel. Almost without doubt, it has a special meaning in their language, but if he knows it, he will not say. He spent the early days of his young life with the Zoanoids, practicing his connection with them. There was perfect synthesis, they were one body with him as the brain. He could hardly wait to receive the mission for which he had been created.

And then it all went to Hell.

It was not his fault. His Creators were to blame. After studying life on Earth for immeasurable time, in fact molding its qualities and biochemistry to their every desire, they should have never undertaken their final experiment.

All the Creators on Earth made use of a special system to be able to survive in various environments and interact with their vast ships: a bio-booster symbiont, an organic armor as it were. It enhanced their biology and abilities. Would it enhance the powers of a human being? It had to be tested. Had to be.

Archanfel, their most trusted servant, was asked to observe as the bio-boosted human was put to the test. For the experiment, the creature was confronted with an enemy: A Tyrannosaur, a living relic from an earlier experimental generation, biologically enhanced by the Creators to be the Dinosaur equivalent of a Zoanoid. The colossal creature, almost twice as large as a normal specimen of its kind, nevertheless moved faster and more agile than anyone could expect from such a huge monster. But despite its power, it was despatched by the small armored creature in less than one minute.

The Creators were surprised, amazed by the results of their experiment. Archanfel felt like them, as he gazed at the foreboding creature, still standing by the ravaged corpse of the gigantic Tyrannosaur. The Creators issued a telepathic command to the human to shed his armor and subject it and itself to study. Nothing happened.

This was far more amazing than the swift victory over the huge monster - no human, Zoanoid or even Archanfel himself could ignore a command of the Creators. And yet, the bio-boosted human stood motionless, as if he had not even heard them. They insisted. The human responded - by opening one of the armor plates on his chest, and firing a beam of enormous destructive power at one of the ships of his Creators!

The moments that followed, as acrid smoke billowed from the demolished ship, were filled with complete horror for the Creators. It was in these moments they realized just what they had done: create the perfect weapon, and free it from their influence at the same time. For some reason, the bio-booster symbiont "protected" the wearer from their control. It was uncontrollable, Guyver , a word that in their language has a particularly obscene meaning - something like living chaos, or a lifeless object that suddenly turns on its user.

Archanfel was immediately charged with its destruction, and there was nothing he would rather do. Taking his battleform, he transformed the army at his command into Zoanoids, and one in mind, they charged the monstrous renegade. The Guyver was stormed by an army of warriors, each completely possessed of the notion of erasing this abomination from existence. Its response was swift and deadly - moving with the grace and unstoppable determination of a machine, it cut through their ranks with gruesome speed. Vibration blades, piercing lasers, devastating sonics, super-powered kicks and punches, all applied in a literally programmed dance of deadly perfection. Before long, not a single Zoalord survived.

Their commander was horrified... as his Creators were. It was like having your limbs cut off by a butterfly. He was sent to take this Guyver on, himself. They gave him a weapon - they did not even trust their most powerful creation to defeat the bio-boosted warrior without it. Swiftly, he made his way to the lone, apparently emotionless figure. The Guyver unleashed his most powerful weapon, the devastating particle beam, once again, but this time to no avail: Archanfel´s force field protected him, and before his enemy could come up with a different response, activated his weapon. It was probably not thought of a weapon before; it simply interacted with the bio-booster´s control medallion, deactivated the armor and returned it to its dormant stage. The host, a hapless human, was left bewildered and panicked. It is possible that he had not even been conscious through the gruesome scenes before, but nobody really seemed to care. A single thought from Archanfel reduced the man to ashes.

The crisis was over. Archanfel returned the Unit-Remover to his masters, and was left to contemplate the terrible events. He could not help but feel inadequate; if he considered that his Creators should have foreseen the results of their experiment, he did not let it show. In any case, he was completely surprised when, sometime later, without any prior warning or indication, the alien ships that were the homes of his Creators briefly vibrated, labouriously drew their roots out of the soil and then flew off into the sky. Staggered, and with a terrible sense of foreboding, he transformed and followed them, up, up and finally into outer space. He asked for an explanation: why were his Creators leaving?

Their answer was as simple as it was devastating. They were abandoning his home planet and their creations. The Guyver incident had made clear that the possible hazardous results of their experiments outweighed the benefits. He could not believe it. They coldly abandoned everything their hands had made, with a matter-of-factness that tore at his soul. He begged to take him with them. They refused.

Of course, they had no choice. Even a normal human, not even a Zoanoid, had possessed power sufficient to threaten their very existence, without anything they, themselves, could do to stop it. The possible result should a Zoanoid, or Archanfel himself, come into contact with a bio-booster symbiont, however remote the possibility, was too great a danger to allow. Perhaps he understood, and more than anything else was hurt by their lack of faith in him.

He was hurt, and angry. His world turned upside-down - betrayed by the ones who had made him, rejected, abandoned, even though he was perfect and perfectly loyal. He demanded they take him with them. They punished him. Searing pain shot through his body. Nothing in the world could hurt him in this form, but he had no defense against the wrath of his masters. They wasted not a word on him after this. The fleet of the Creators left the solar system, opening warp gates and leaving for an unknown destination, leaving this disaster behind.

Moments after they vanished from the solar system forever, another warp gate opened. Through it, immense, looming, rushed a planetoid, a hunk of stone the size of the planet´s only satellite. Its heading had been calculated to perfection, it flew directly to Earth - upon impact, both would be shattered, nothing would survive. Not even bacteria. Archanfel, who still floated in space, torn physically and emotionally, saw how doom rushed to his home planet. With the tears of betrayal still frozen on his face, he acted, with blind, furious denial burning throughout his body. He simply refused to accept the judgment of his Creators. Summoning all of his matchless power, he raced to meet the planetoid. Energy blasted from his body like a solar flare, turning him into a blazing inferno, a titanic, glittering sword of power. The impact lit up the skies.

Dizzily, Archanfel fell back to Earth. His attack, which had cost him dearly, had attained the desired result... the planetoid had been destroyed, partly vaporized, partly shattered. The planet had been saved. However, several chunks made it through the atmosphere and crashed on the planet´s surface... Although their impact did not threaten the structural integrity of the world, they did cause a global climate change. Under certain circumstances, it actually does not take much to start an ice age; there had been several during the Creator´s reign, and a new one started now. For Archanfel, however, it was a new experience. He was hurting - his body damaged internally both by his own Creators and by the immense effort of destroying a small planet - and there was quite frankly not a whole lot he could do. Already, he felt a burning desire inside him, but for this, he needed an army to command. He resolved to wait - wait until the handful of humans that existed, would have grown into an army of millions.

He selected an isolated place, which would eventually become the island Silha , as his home base and sanctum. Using the Creator ship that had been critically damaged by the Guyver´s aggression, he managed to prepare a number of hibernation tanks - amniotic pods, which spoonfed bio-energy to whatever living thing was inside. He gathered a menagerie of some of the Creator´s abandoned experiments, perhaps out of sentimental feelings, around him, to go into hibernation with him. By his command, Zoanoids constructed a temple around the old ship he would sleep in, to conceal and protect it. All was prepared. Sending his Zoanoid servants out into the world, he retired to the amniotic tank he had created for himself, and went into a deep, much-needed sleep.

He may have woken up a few times. Probably at least once, to free his hibernating companions. But on the whole, he remained asleep.

Until, one day, there was a stirring; upon awakening, he noticed, to his amazement, a human had found his temple. The island was surrounded by a complex of powerful vortexes and electromagnetic fields. It was virtually impossible to reach it.

The old man, for his part, was overcome, and immediately recognized him as his master. From his mind, Archanfel gleaned anything he needed to know. Mankind had begun to expand in numbers and technology; the time had come to start preparations. He recruited the man who had found him, Hamilcar Barcas , and together they calmly, without haste, begun to lay the foundations for a secret society that would strive for the ultimate transformation of mankind.
