Guyver I Unit Activation

The activation of the Guyver Unit for Sho Fukamachi is one of the most definitative, if not the defining moment in his life.

The exact details vary from version to version but essentially, when the test type Malmot killed himself with a grenade to escape from Chronos, he blew the Guyver Unit's into all directions as well.

Sho and Tetsuro had been walking through the forest near their school taking the scenic route home so that Tetsuro could talk to his friend. They noticed the explosion before debris from the explosion hit them and then the unit fell down beside them.

In the manga Sho was quick to examine the Unit in it's inactive mode while Tetsuro warned him away. Accidentally he clicked the central control medallion which activated the Unit and it came free of its protective case becoming a thing that looked like a lot of tendrils coming from the central medallion. This creature jumped out at Sho and surrounded him, invading his body and smoothing itself out as if formed the armor plates, sensors and other weaponry of the Guyver. The central Control Medallion was whole from the beginning.

While still forming though, Sho and the Unit move backwards and fall into the pond there, where the Unit completes its formation.

Tetsuro is very worried but the arrival of Chronos troops and a transformed Gregole divert his attention.

In the 2005 TV Series it is Tetsuro who examines the Unit while Sho tells him that it could be dangerous. Tetsuro pokes it with a stick before picking it up and they have a small conversation about it. Sho is trying to get Tetsuro to leave the Unit where it landed when the Control Medallion is accidentally clicked. This activates the Unit and while Sho steps back from Tetsuro, the Guyver Unit is tossed in Sho's direction and when it activates it bonds with him. Once again though, after falling into the pond/lake, Tetsuro is confronted by Chronos.

Thus the first Guyver Unit was activated.

Guyver II

When Commander Oswald Risker, special executive of Chronos headquarters, was sent to Chronos Japan (director Makashima´s branch), he soon discovered that the local branch was very incompetent. This led him to want to take matters into his own hands as much as possible.

Perhaps as a result of this, and maybe natural curiosity, he insisted on inspecting the only G-unit that had been retrieved from the Narisawa incident. Against director Makashima´s wishes, he handled the unit - which showed superficial damage - and accidentally (?) activated the system. The control medallion sought out the nearest host, inspector Risker, and merged the unit with him.

After his initial shock, commander Risker reveled in his newfound power. He had been on the nomination for being processed into a Hyper-Zoanoid, but he judged that this was something far greater. Indeed, he may have been the most powerful Guyver ever.

Oddly enough, his new situation did not seem to change Risker´s viewpoint; he remained a loyal Chronos representative.

Guyver I versus Guyver II

This event most definitely varies from version to version although each version has some similarities.

From the manga, Lisker (Guyver II) after seeing how easily Sho (Guyver I) defeats Zoanoids decides he is the only one who can fight the Guyver so he takes a number of Zoanoids with him and goes to Sho's school. The Zoanoids in human form look like the janitors but when they find Tetsuro they attack him. Tetsuro naturally screams and this brings Sho's attention and within the school he bioboosts and breaks through the floor to kill both of the Zoanoids attacking Tetsuro.

Before they get any breather though, they are confronted by a new figure walking down the corridor - Guyver II. Guyver's I and II have a brief conversation where Lisker tries to convince Sho to return to Chronos without much avail. Ending the conversation, Lisker fires the Head Beam at Tetsuro but this is intercepted by Guyver I and then the two of them jump out the window to fight in the open.

Lisker, being a far more experienced soldier completely hounds Sho in combat and as Tetsuro runs down to the ground floor he comes to this realisation as well. He arrives on the scene in time to see Sho pick himself up from the ground. Lisker then reinforces his superiority but while he is speaking his Control Medallion emits an unusual light and he is in a great deal of pain. Tetsuro realises the importance of the Control Medallion and Sho attacks it while Lisker is unable to defend himself.

Sho punches the Control Medallion, which causes it to break free of the Guyver Armor and fall to the ground in its component pieces. Once there the parasite which is the Guyver Unit has no restraint and begins to consumer Lisker, much to his, Tetsuro's and Guyver I's horror. Sho takes mercy on the dissolving Lisker and MegaSmashes him into oblivion, thus completing the destruction of Guyver II.

In the 2005 TV series, there is a rather significant difference in the way this event is protrayed. Right after Guyver I finishes killing Synevite at Narisawa in the forest, Lisker appears. The conversation is similar, and Lisker then calls his Unit. Guyvers I and II then fight in a forest setting this time, and once again Lisker is far dominating Guyver I.

However, just as Lisker is about to deliver his final ultimatium to Sho, his Unit malfunctions. The malfunction this time, isn't some light around the Control Medallion but instead looks as if the Unit returned to its base form, just for an instant. During this time, Sho and Tetsuro escape and to Lisker it just seemed as if they had vanished as he had no recognition of what had just happened.

Thus Lisker survives his first encounter with Guyver I and returns to Chronos Head Quarters Japan. How the final battle is to be resolves has yet to be revealed.

In the OAV version, Lisker does show Sho and Tetsuro his transformation after Sho kills the Zoanoids who were attacking Tetsuro. This time, though the setting is a ware house and after a brief fight, Sho once again punches Guyver II's control medallion, thus causing the major malfunction before he MegaSmashes Lisker.

The Movie - Out of Control has a female Guyver II in it but she too is defeated by Guyver I.

Guyver II is the only Guyver that Chronos ever recovered from the incident and in most situations he/she has been killed by Guyver I.

x-day

X-day is a pivotal day in the manga. As the moment none of the animations have show X-day, although the 2005 TV Series is aimed towards it.

X-day is the day Chronos took over the World. They used Zoanoids in hidden positions of power, in combination with their troops to subdue the worlds military completely.

The Guyvers weren't around to prevent X-day due to the events at Relic's Point . It is uncertain if they managed to delay it at all.

It took one day only for all the worlds countries to fall before them. They had divided the world into sectors which was watched over and controlled by a Zoalord. Most were easily conquered although Kbalar Khan's sector lagged slightly. The Americans in the Middle East used their nuclear weapons against the attacking Zoanoids but to no avail and they were destroyed as well.

All forms of military were over whelmed - sea, air, land - nothing worked against the Zoanoids and the day ended with Archanphel's Zoalords bowing to him as he watched the sunrise on a new day, knowing that Chronos now ruled supreme.

The day is recorded in the manga as being 17/08/199X.

The World After Chronos

Chronos was a military organisation hiding as a corporate company when they initiated X-day and so there were concerns that they would enforce this militaristic view on the world once they held power.

The world though was pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn't the case. Instead Chronos could almost be said to be a great thing for most of the human population and certainly for the environment.

In the Aftermath of X-day they eliminated all political boundaries. National debts were wiped out, poverty was eliminated and there was in general a redistribution of the worlds resources so that everyone could benefit from technology. They initiated strict environmental laws to ensure that environmental degradation was stopped and on the whole citizens were allowed to live freely.

They did not force people to become Zoanoids. Instead they began on a campaign that romantises Zoanoids and makes them seem better. This propaganda campaign includes the Zoanoid rock band Jukadan as well as advertising that being a Zoanoid will make you popular with the ladies, increase your self esteem and generally make you stronger. To culminate this plan, Chronos is advertising that only Zoanoids can be crew members on their Ark.

There has a been a marked shift in the perceptions of people and Zoanoids are accepted and becoming a Zoanoid is not seen as becoming a monster.

In general Chronos has helped humanity with many of the issues that have been plaguing us today - poverty, national debt, inequity between countries and environmental issues - and have laid out what many would consider an ideal society. They have not removed many freedoms.

But, this is just the beginning of their rule. Who knows what is to come... And who knows what their long term plans are.

Aptom vs Neo-Zektoll

After X-day the Japan area is Friedrich von Pulukshterl's domain but it was noticed that the instances of Zoanoid disappearances in Tokyo was higher than expected. The cause was presumed to be Aptom, who especially in Hamilcar_Barcas's mind was becoming very problemmatical.

Thankfully though for Chronos there was a solution on hand. Zektoll, who still bore a deep hatred for Aptom because the Lost Number had consumed most of the Hyper Zoanoid Team 5, volunteered to become the special Zoanoid created to kill Aptom. Barcas is seen in the manga reprocessing him although no hint of his form is given.

Later, Aptom is revealed to be in Tokyo and is watching over Tetsuro and Mizuki. In fact, he is protecting them from Chronos detection. As he is walking through Tokyo he detects someone following him, and after a brief detour to a more suitable ambush place he confronts his pursuer, who is revealed to be Zektoll in human form.

Aptom is contemptuous, as to be expected since his last fight against Zektoll revealled him to be the superior Zoaform and so there should be nothing the Leader of the Hyper Zoanoid Team Five can do against him. Unfortunately for Aptom, this is not the case.

Zektoll has been upgraded, reprocessed and reborn as Neo-Zektoll, a Hyper Zoanoid or something else, with all the abilities of Hyper Zoanoid Team Five, including Thancrus' blades.

Aptom is rather surprised and the two of them take wing, fighting through Tokyo. This of course causes a large ruckus and is noticed by many people and reported on the news. Chronos is forced to initiate martial law for the duration of the battle.

Aptom does try absorbing Neo Zektoll but the reborn Zoanoid reveals that he has been reprocessed to be immune to the virus known as Aptom and that further he, like Aptom is a Lost Number. All through the battle Neo Zektoll is thinking of his companions and has Aptom at a complete loss.

Eventually Aptom falls to the ground, minus and arm and leg and is forced to wait for the end. He is found that way by Tetsuro, Mizuki, Natsuki and Shizu who had gone to investigate the battle, not believing that it was Zoanoid's fighting but thinking perhaps that Sho or Agito had returned. Instead they found the wounded form of Aptom, who warned them away from him but by then it was too late, Neo Zektoll had found them all.

The battle seemed over, ending with Neo-Zektoll's complete victory but there was other forces at work.
